Join SDPB and the Yankton Community Library as they the celebrate the end of National Library Week with a special screening of the Indie Lens Pop-Up documentary “Free for All: The Public Library,” on Saturday, April 12 at 2:00 pm in the Yankton Community Library meeting room.
This event is free and open to the public, but please reserve a seat as space is limited.
Watch Free for All airs on SDPB Tuesday, April 29, 2025 and will be available on Passport April 29, 2025 – April 28, 2028,

Free for All: The Public Library tells the story of the quiet revolutionaries who made a simple idea happen. From the pioneering women behind the “Free Library Movement” to today’s librarians who service the public despite working in a contentious age of closures and book bans, meet those who created a civic institution where everything is free and the doors are open to all.
